Breaded perch roe

In many countries, fish roe is eaten fried. For me, it is a childhood dish that I always really liked. Whenever I managed to get fish with roe inside, it meant that I asked my mother to fry the roe for me. A good way to make fried fish roe is to lightly bread it in egg and flour and fry it in cooking oil over medium heat.

Preparation time: about 30 minutes
Level: Easy
Quantity: Serves two to four

Ingredients:
6-8 perch roe
1 egg, beaten and mixed with 2-3 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of flour
Merseo and black pepper to taste
A pinch of dried oregano and thyme to taste

Preparation:

  1. Beat the egg with a little water until smooth, and pour the flour onto a plate.
  2. Cut the roe of larger fish in half so that the layer to be fried is not too thick.
  3. Season the roe with salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme.
  4. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Coat the seasoned roe first in flour and then in egg, and fry over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Place a lid on the pan halfway through frying to increase the heat, allowing the roe to cook evenly.
