Baked Potatoes with Herbs
I overheard a conversation in which people discussed how to make baked potatoes that weren’t like boiled potatoes and were brown and delicious. From this conversation, I thought I’d post some basic recipes here that might be helpful to someone in their cooking. A groove is an easy way to get perfect baked potatoes with herbs without putting any special effort into making them.
Preparation time: about 30 min
Level: Easy
Quantity: Serves two to four
Ingredients:
6 medium potatoes, washed and cut into four or six wedges
3-4 tbsp olive oil or neutral-flavored cooking oil
0.5 tsp sea salt
0.5 tsp dried thyme
0.25 tsp dried rosemary
Preparation:
- Wash the potatoes and cut them into wedges.
- Pour into a baking dish or heatproof pan.
- Shake on the salt, thyme, and rosemary and pour in the olive oil.
- Mix the potatoes thoroughly with your hands so that everything comes together with the oil and herbs.
- Preheat the oven to maximum temperature. 250 degrees is suitable. If you have the option of using an oven at 300 degrees C, then use this temperature.
- Place the potatoes in the preheated oven and let them cook. Keep an eye on the potatoes so that they do not burn. At 300 degrees C, the process from browning to burning happens quickly.
- If the potatoes are not yet soft, then lower the temperature to 200 degrees C and cook until the potatoes are soft and pleasantly crispy.
- You can gently stir the potatoes once before lowering the temperature and spoon oil from the bottom of the pan onto the potatoes.
Serve immediately. Potatoes are most delicious fresh from the oven.
