Lisasin maitseaimetena lisatava nelgi ja kaneeli pulbrina, mitte ei keetnud neid vees ja ei teinud neist pastat nagu osades retseptides soovitati. Kasutasin pruuni roosuhkrut, mille t\u00f5ttu on k\u00fcpsised ehk heledamad, aga ma leidsin, et neid on valmistatud ka igasugust tooni. V\u00f5ib olla tasuks kasutada kas fariinsuhkrut v\u00f5i tumedat muscavado suhkrut. K\u00fcpsised said eksootilise maitsebuketiga, mis v\u00f5ib olla kergelt Eestlastele meenutab piparkooki. Maitset lisas ka riivitud sidruni ja apelsinikoor. Carolina r\u00e4\u00e4kis, et k\u00fcpsised peavad olema pealt kr\u00f5bedad ja seest pehmed.
